Precast
Precast is officially referred to as "architectural precast concrete", or "ornamental cast stone". It has been used as a building material since the 12th century. Precast is often used as a reasonably priced economical facsimile of the real stonework used in classic Greek and Roman architecture (among others). Precast, or manmade artificial stone has been used extensively in London, England since the 1900s and has gained widespread popularity and acceptance in America since the 1920s.
Precast is typically made up of either standard Portland cement or glass fiber reinforced cement (GFRC), either can be used for both interior or exterior applications. Precast can also be made from lighter weight glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) for use in interior applications. Precast elements can add strength and energy efficiency to a building by helping to increase the energy rating, "R" value. We believe the biggest increase from precast elements is in the value and appeal of any building. Precast elements add a touch of class representing the visual appeal of the classic architecture found in the great buildings and estates of old Europe and Asia.
Precast elements are a bargain, with a lower than expected cost and a higher than expected return in value and aesthetics. Please take a look through our precast galleries and imagine what we could do for you.
